One hour is sixty minutes, and vice versa

2009, Wall clock with Arabic numbers, going clounterclockwise

The numerals which we all now use, were developed around 500AD by mathmaticians on the Indian Subcontient and then adopted by mathmaticians in Baghdad before spreading across the Arab world. It is Fibonacci who is often credited with spreading the use of Hindu-Arabic numeral system with the publication of his book Liber Abaci in 1202, allowing maths to develop in way impossible with Roman Numerals.
