2013, Direct Print on Plate + C-Digital, Five prints on top of each other, each 110x220 cm
The title is the digital timestamp from a camera of a photo uploaded to Facebook at the height of the revolution in Syria. In the photo a friend lies down on his side to dispay a back full of fresh wounds and scars, marks that were the result of a brutal police interrogation in Damascus.
In these prints all information other the scars is removed, leaving only a series of black gestural marks in the right hand left corner that read as an abstract print. Shown layered in a series of five, as each print recedes the wounds, now analogous to brushstrokes become less and less opaque, and eventually disappear.
