The term Blue Hour describes an uncanny moment of indistinguishable twilight which occupies the space between sunset and total nightfall, as well as the last moments of darkness before the sunrise. The works of artist Khaled Barakeh apply this notion, inhabiting spaces and moments of personal and collective transition. Drawing on experiences of flight and long-term conflict, The Blue Hour embodies the interplay of uncertainty and hope; uncertainty as to whether the day is approaching, or the night is still ahead.

The exhibition The Blue Hour is presented as part of the Days of Exile, an initiative of the Körber Foundation in co-operation with the Herbert and Elsbeth Weichmann Foundation.
